Looking beyond the obvious European markets
Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium are familiar names when international riders begin their search for a dressage horse. But good breeding is not confined to one country. Our family-run farm is in Austria, a country neighboring Germany, near Vienna. We welcome buyers comparing quality dressage prospects throughout Europe.
Our horses are primarily bred here by us, with an emphasis on character, rideability and long-term potential. If you are planning to view European dressage horses, we would be happy to learn what you are seeking and whether one of our prospects could be a match.
Before you book your flight
We suggest starting with a personal enquiry. Tell us your preferred horse age, training background, intended riding use, indicative budget and ideal visiting dates. We can then discuss whether any suitable horses may be available and what information we can share before you travel.
For international customers, we are happy to arrange collection at Vienna International Airport and a return transfer after your visit by prior agreement. This allows you to focus on the horses rather than local travel arrangements.
What to discuss during a European horse purchase
- Your rider and horse match: temperament, current training, experience and realistic expectations.
- X-rays before your visit: We understand that travelling a long distance to see a horse is a carefully considered decision. If you are seriously interested, we are happy to provide the requested horse’s X-rays before your visit, upon request, for an initial review by your veterinarian. This means that, when you visit, you can focus above all on whether you and the horse truly connect.
- Sales conditions: agree in writing on price, included items, payment arrangements and the point at which ownership and risk pass.
- Export and transport: The arrangements to clarify – such as transport quotations, insurance, health certificates, border procedures and arrival in the destination country – depend on the destination and its applicable requirements.
We present horses individually rather than maintaining a public inventory. Every enquiry is handled personally, with attention to the rider’s experience, goals and expectations.
Overseas transport through specialised providers
For horses sold to overseas destinations, specialist equine transport providers may arrange the journey from collection at our farm through road transport, air freight and onward arrival arrangements. We are happy to assist buyers in coordinating this process. The transport provider, contract, scope of services, costs, insurance and responsibility for individual stages are clarified individually as applicable.
For buyers in the United States, USDA APHIS describes import permits, export health certification, inspection and import quarantine requirements, with additional provisions that depend on the horse and its travel history. Those requirements must be checked for the specific shipment with the appointed professional. You can review the official USDA APHIS equine import guidance.
We offer help with coordination, not a blanket transport or customs guarantee. A qualified provider and the relevant authorities confirm the exact requirements for each route.
Personal attention from first message to next steps
Wherever you are based, we would love to hear what kind of dressage partner you have in mind. We will be open about the horses we can currently introduce, possible visiting dates and the practical next steps.
We encourage you to begin with a conversation, not a booking. The horse’s age and stage of development should fit your riding experience and long-term goals.
